Users

The Users page provides Administrators access to all of the user accounts in the system.  They can add new accounts, update existing accounts, or remove old accounts.  Selecting a user from the list will open a view showing all the details about the user.

Create User

Users can be created I two ways, manually via the Create User dialog, or automatically via SAML/ADFS login.

Users created via the Create User dialog will be sent a welcome message asking them to set their account password.  Once set, they will be able to login.  During account creation, you can specify what roles a user has within DataShyft.

Users created via a SAML/ADFS login use the information provided by the Identity Provider to create the account, set the user's name, and assign roles to the user.  Accounts that were created by SAML/ADFS are more restricted in what changes can be made.  For example, editing roles will typically be undone on the user's next login as the default is to update user roles based on the IDP provided group membership.
